Who we are:

We are a group of homeowners, businesses, landowners, and concerned citizens who wish to improve the quality of the Chesapeake Bay by addressing land use and water quality issues throughout the Chesapeake's watershed. This program is facilitated through a matching funds program of the Shore Sand & Gravel Company and is administered through the Jordan Family Trust.

Mission statement

The goal of the Riparian Buffer Project is to restore the once bountiful Chesapeake Bay to its original, healthy condition. The quality of life in the Bay cannot adequately be addressed without addressing issues of water quality, and water quality is dependent upon responsible land use.

Our aim is to educate the public at large about the value of riparian buffer zones, and encourage landowners and developers to set aside the land needed for this purpose. This project is dedicated to financially and professionally supporting the planning, construction and maintenance of riparian buffer zones.
